Nasri Ghaly, MD

Dr. Ghaly graduated from medical school in Cairo, Egypt in 1974 and worked as a general practitioner until he immigrated to the US in 1977 where he completed his psychiatric residency at SUNY Upstate. He is a board certified psychiatrist with a vast and extensive knowledge in many other specialties. He is a licensed acupuncturist and also treats sleep related disorders at the Ghaly Sleep Center. Throughout his studies and broad experience, he has gained extensive knowledge of psychopharmacology and drug to drug interaction.

Dr. Ghaly has been practicing TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) therapy since 2004. He received his certification from Harvard Medical School and Columbia University. Over the years he has performed thousands of TMS procedures with a wide range of patients suffering from different conditions. Dr. Ghaly is now the only physician in the Upstate New York area to offer state of the art Brainsway Deep TMS therapy. This technology is considered a revolution in psychiatric and neurological disorders. It is approved by the FDA for treating Major Depressive Disorder, including patients who have failed to benefit from any number of antidepressant treatments. It is a convenient outpatient treatment, meaning no anesthesia or hospitalization and there are no long-term side effects.
