Treatment at the EmoLogic Clinic is based upon the integration of Emotion and Logic. We believe it is a basic fallacy to separate mind from body, and to treat the two as isolated entities. We extrapolate this conviction into our approach with regards to the treatment of Psychiatric conditions. Emotional problems cannot be properly treated by considering them as ‘purely biological’ or ‘purely psychological’. Most emotional turmoil is the result of a combination of problems arising in the brain as well as the mind. Taking this into account, we intend to use a variety of tools to identify and treat psychiatric conditions. Besides relying on extensive, traditional clinical interviews to unravel a patient’s underlying problems, we will be using Brain SPECT imaging, in specific cases, to visually identify complicated conditions. In addition to using traditional medication management and psychotherapy, we will be offering cutting-edge treatments for difficult-to-treat conditions, such as Genetic testing, Deep TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) and VNS (Vagus Nerve Stimulation).
We intend to provide the highest quality service to those who entrust us with their emotional health. We do not view emotional problems as the patient’s fault, or a sign of weakness. We regard the patient’s decision to seek help as a courageous and introspective action taken to better his or her own life. We consider our patients’ problems not as something to become frustrated about, but as a logical puzzle that needs solving.
We will work closely with our patients’ other treatment providers after obtaining written permission from them. Identifying and addressing medical problems, if any, is vital to the proper treatment of psychiatric conditions, and is yet another example of the integration of mind and body – and of emotion and logic.
